January is National Blood Donor Month, coinciding with a time of year when blood supplies are typically low due to the holidays, travel, and inclement weather. (I know this because I have a hospital visit coming up, and our local medical center has posters everywhere!) This is also a time of year when many Red Cross chapters host community blood drives, so it’s easy to find a way to donate. To search for a blood drive this month near you, the Red Cross offers a handy search feature at www.givelife.org or call 1-800-GIVE LIFE.
Today’s mitzvah: Check for a local blook drive near you.
