Update: Charity Piggy Bank

As promised in December, Daily Mitzvah is keeping a charity piggy bank. In keeping with the blog’s theme, this is a small way to make a difference in a big world, just through everyday activities. Here are the totals as of February 1st:

• Proportional giving: $27.79
• Savings account interest: $0.64
• Found money (vending machine, sidewalk): $2.25
• Change jar (not full yet!): $0.00
• TOTAL: $30.68

I’ll post an update each month and keep a running total on the blog’s upper right column, with the goal of making a contribution to one or more charities at the end of the year.

Today’s mitzvah: Consider creating a “charity piggy bank” to collect small sums during the year for a year-end charitable contribution.
